An insider's view

Okay, so I've been a little lax about blogging. If you'd done as much driving as I have over the past six weeks, you'd be pooped, too. Just got back from the valley where I'm working on yet another book. I know you can't keep up with them. This is another true story that is going to take me the better part of a year to write, especially given that the criminal case is now in the Court of Appeals. Stay tuned.

I thought you might like to see some photos from all the festivities I've been involved with lately.

This is Alexandria, the flower girl at Mannie's wedding. She's missed her nap time.

Linda said she never even heard the Frank Sinatra tune as she walked the aisle with Mannie. Don't get on my case about not having photos of the bride. I didn't take pictures. My daughter did. I'm only showing you what I have.

Daughter Ashley giving the toast at Kym and Cristian's wedding at Bridal Viel, Oregon. Ashley had the entire crowd in stitches with her memories of growing up.

I told you Shelby caught the bride's bouquet. What I didn't know is that her only competition came from a 6-year old girl! Good shot, though, for a novice like me.

Now a break from the weddings to show you some family shots from my friend Capt. David Moses. Moses is on his second tour in Iraq but was able to come home this week for some R&R, and to meet his new baby girl, Camilla. You'll have to agree that she's pretty doggone sweet. But the trip hasn't been without its trauma. Moses totaled his car this week when he swerved to miss a rodent (squirrel) in his direct path. I told him that he didn't need to save the critter for dinner over here. Then I said, "Lemme get this straight. You're a soldier in Iraq shooting people, but stateside you swerve to save a squirrel???" Thankfully, David has a good sense of humor and can handle my ribbing. I'm happy to report that both the Capt. and the squirrel are shook up, but unharmed.

Capt. Moses with his infant daughter, Camilla. And below with Mikayla, who Capt. Moses said wondered who that strange man was in her house.
